Dr. Verne Meyer
Dr. Verne Meyer is a businessperson and an educator who has taught in high schools and in college. In 1977, he co-founded Write Source Educational Publishing House, now a subsidiary of Great Source and Houghton Mifflin. A graduate of Calvin College, Marquette University, and the University of Minnesota, he has co-authored nine English handbooks, including Write Source 2000, Writers INC, The College Writer, and Write for Business. (A 1991 survey conducted by the English Journal found Writers INC to be the most widely-used English handbook in the country.) Today, Dr. Meyer is a contributing editor for Write Source, Houghton Mifflin, and UpWrite Press. He also leads writing workshops across the United States.
Pat Sebranek
Pat Sebranek is the President of Write Source where he has directed a team of writers and editors for twenty-five years. Mr. Sebranek co-founded Write Source in 1977 after co-authoring, Basic English Revisited. Prior to founding Write Source, Mr. Sebranek taught writing and speaking at the high school level for sixteen years, where he developed several courses aimed at helping students use the writing process more effectively. Now he has applied those same strategies to Write for Business, the first publication of UpWrite Press. As Editorial Director for UpWrite Press, he continues to develop products that will help individuals improve their communication skills in the workplace.
Dr. John Van Rys
John Van Rys is a professor of English at Redeemer University College, Ancaster, Ontario, Canada. For 17 years, Van Rys has taught business and technical writing in college courses and at businesses in Canada and the United States. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario and of Dalhousie University, Van Rys went on to receive the Canada Council Doctoral Fellowship and the Killam Scholarship during his graduate studies. His books include Writers Inc: School to Work, The College Writer, The College Writer's Handbook, The Business Writer, Write for Business, and Writing Effective E-Mail.
