Who is UpWrite Press?

UpWrite Press is a group of authors, teachers, trainers, and designers who specialize in writing instruction. What is the current project?

Our current project is Write for Work—a text designed specifically to teach writing, grammar, and communication to students at tech and trade schools and community colleges.

This very practical text uses the “company model.” Students begin by profiling companies where they would like to work. Then throughout the course, students write letters, reports, proposals, instructions, and so forth as employees of their companies. This approach allows students to write in their areas of interest and expertise, increasing their engagement and improving their performance.

Write for Work also includes an extensive guide to English grammar, with loads of practice activities and applications. Practical, accessible, engaging, and helpful, Write for Work is designed to open doors for students who are headed right for work.
