"Program not found" Errors
Error: "A suitable program to open the eBook was not found on your computer. The eBook is located in the eBook folder on the Write for Business CD. You may attempt to open the eBook manually by double-clicking it."
Explanation: This error indicates that the Write for Business CD program is unable to locate an Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader program on your computer. As a result, it is unable to open the Write for Business eBook. Running the setup program on the CD again may correct the error. Otherwise, if you are certain that Acrobat or Acrobat Reader are installed on your system, you can open the eBook by double-clicking the "WriteforBusiness" file in the "E_book" folder on the CD.
Error: "A suitable program to open the file was not found on your computer. The file is located in the Templates folder on the Write for Business CD. You may attempt to open the file manually by double-clicking it."
Explanation: This error indicates that a problem exists concerning your installation of Microsoft Word (or a compatible word processor). It may be that your computer does not have that word processor installed or that it is installed improperly. Uninstalling and reinstalling your word processor may correct the problem. If you are certain that a suitable word processor is installed on your system, you may be able to open the Write for Business writing templates by locating them within the "Templates" folder on the CD and then double-clicking the file.
"File not found" Errors
Error: "The eBook cannot be found. Run the Setup program on the Write for Business CD to re-install the application."
Explanation: During installation of the Write for Business program, the eBook is copied to your computer's hard drive, to enhance access speed when the program is used. If this file is later moved, or if the path is corrupted, the program can no longer locate the eBook. To correct this error, use the Setup program on the CD to uninstall and reinstall the Write for Business program.

Try cleaning the CD (gently wipe the CD with a damp, lint-free cloth). Then reinsert the CD and attempt to start the program. If your disk is damaged, please call Customer Service at 1-800-261-0637, Ext. 10. We will gladly replace your disk at no charge.
"Opening" errors
Error: "Opening the eBook failed. The eBook is located in the eBook folder on the Write for Business CD. Double-click the eBook file to open it manually."
Explanation: This error indicates that your installed version of Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader is unable to open the eBook file. Reinstalling Acrobat or Acrobat Reader may solve the problem. If that does not work, try running the Setup program on the CD. If all else fails, you can open the eBook by double-clicking the eBook icon in the "eBook" folder on the CD.
Error: "Opening the template failed. If the problem persists, the file can be located in the Templates folder on the Write for Business CD. Double-click the template to open it manually."
Explanation: This error indicates that your installed version of Microsoft Word (or a compatible word processor) was unable to open the template file you selected. If you are using a Macintosh computer, it may help to start your word processor and leave it running in the background before attempting to open the template. On both Windows and Macintosh computers, reinstalling the word-processing program may solve the problem. Otherwise, you may be able to open the Write for Business writing templates by locating them within the "Templates" folder on the CD and double-clicking.
